Evidence shows that stopping smoking improves the effectiveness of treatment and likelihood of survival among all patients with cancer. However, smoking is rarely addressed during cancer care.

In 2016, the Partnership funded two territories and seven provinces to improve access to smoking cessation support during cancer care. Review early findings from these jurisdictions about improving quality of care for ambulatory cancer patients with evidence-based programs for stopping smoking and preventing relapse.
