The Métis People are one of the three constitutionally recognized Aboriginal groups in Canada. The Métis are a distinct people of the historic Northwest known as the “Métis Nation Homeland,” which includes the 3 Prairie Provinces and extends into Ontario, British Columbia, the Northwest Territories and the northern United States.
